Wildlife was what most drew us to Sabah, one of two Malaysian states on the island of Borneo, during our March 2014 tour. Upon reaching the Kinabatangan River on a Sunday afternoon, we negotiated a downward sloping gangplank and climbed into a motorboat for a five-minute trip downstream and across to the Bilit Rainforest Lodge.
